“Jim’s contributions and accomplishments as a civic leader were absolutely transformative for our city. As the vision and infrastructure that established Indianapolis as a modern sports and entertainment capital came together, Jim was the catalyst who brought everyone to the table and laid the foundation for growth and success. And over many decades, he simply never stopped offering up big ideas and connecting people from different walks of life to solve problems and drive progress.
His passion for IMS was always palpable, and we’re incredibly grateful for his years of service as a member of the Hulman & Company Board of Directors. He was also essential to a treasured piece of IMS history, helping ensure the Pan American Games opening ceremony took place at our venue, a decision that welcomed a global audience to our city in fitting fashion.
For me personally, he was a good friend and source of inspiration and advice. We send our condolences to his family and everyone at Pacers Sports and Entertainment, an organization he loved dearly and gave so much.”
